Biography
Inspirational Sound started life in Bradford, West Yorkshire in 1999.
They were the force behind Dub Lab, a monthly reggae and dub club night in Bradford and this led to them playing alongside some of the best known names in the UK dub and reggae scene such as Alpha & Omega, Disciples, Rootsman, Jonah Dan, Iration Steppas, Nucleus Roots, Vibronics, Underground Roots and many more.
Inspirational Sound have also built a recording studio to make their own style of dub reggae music. Their music has seen success on the UK dub sound system scene and they make dubplates for some of the leading sound systems and DJ’s across Europe such as Iration Steppas, Lion Roots (France) and OBF (Switzerland).
In recent years Inspirational Sound have had releases through various record labels including Dub Flash in Germany and Kumina in France. This led them to start their own record label in 2009 and their first release, ‘Warning / Sing Jah Praise’ featuring singer Stephanie, was a hit on the roots and dub scene in the UK and across Europe and since then the label has gone from strength to strength.
Since 1999 Inspirational Sound have played across the UK and Europe. Some highlights include playing at Collie Roots festival in Belgium, Wickerman Festival in Scotland, Outlook festival in Croatia, Dub Camp Festival in Germany and playing alongside some of their biggest musical influences such as Vibronics, Iration Steppas, Alpha & Omega and Disciples.
In the studio they have worked with many different artists and producers including Iration Steppas, Jonah Dan, Dan Man, Bongo Chilli, Johnny Clarke, Sugar Minott (RIP), YT, King Simeon and many more.
